Hey Everyone! My name is Vanessa and I'm so excited to be a member of the Project360 Team! I live in New York and work at an entertainment law firm. I live with my grandmother, and as much as the generation gap leads to many disagreements, she is the love of my life!

 

I'm currently single and loving hanging out with my gfriends, who are my rock. I love music, dancing, singing, fashion, good food and pop culture. I am currently obsessed with the tv show GLEE and have no clue what I'm going to do from now until April.

 

Kim, Nick and Patrick have found a way to us to look good for a good cause. I've known Kim for years, and we've always shared a passion for fashion. With Project360, you can feel proud about your purchases and know that you've done something to contribute to the fight against cancer, domestic abuse, aids, the environment and children in need. All while wearing some of the softest tanks, hoodies, zipups, and tshirts imaginable and funky wrap bracelets too! I'm so proud of Kim and the rest of the team for taking a step away from egocentric goals and standing up for causes that they believe in...and making us look cute in the process!

Cause I'm Most Passionate About:
Cancer is a very personal issue for me. In April of 2008, my grandfather..or more like my father for anyone who knew him, was diagnosed with Glioblastoma. A glioma is a type of tumor that starts in the brain or spine, and for Gene, his was a brain tumor that had apparently been developing for quite some time, unnoticed. Sadly enough, these types of tumors cannot be cured, and the survival rate is poor, especially in older patients. Glioblastoma has a prognosis of less than 12 month survival after diagnosis. We tried everything we could and gave him chemo, which weakened him and made him unable to walk and be the independent man he always prided himself to be. He was diagnosed in the beginning of April and passed away on May 20th. 5 weeks later. As fast and hard as it was to say goodbye to someone so close to me, I will say one thing. At least he was able to live his life, work, drive and be happy up until those last 5 weeks. He didn't feel pain and he had his loved ones with him until the very end. Yet, a part of me can't help but wonder if only he had gotten diagnosed sooner? Or if there was a cure?! That's why this is so important to me. Every dollar that goes towards Cancer research goes towards finding new methods for preventions, treatments and hopefully a cure. I'm sure my grandfather would be proud of me working towards something that could help the future.

To make a difference in my friends and families' lives, maybe make a difference in the world! to feel fulfilled emotionally and career wise, to never settle, to keep dreaming...
