Patrick Schwarzenegger is a 16-year-old Californian high-school student and cofounder of Project360, a hip modern apparel company that donates a portion of its proceeds to worthy charities. Patrick has been a social entrepreneur since the age of seven, when he operated a lemonade stand and donated a portion of his sales to charity. Ever since he was 11, he has been operating a memorabilia booth at the Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio that benefits the After-School All-Stars, a national organization that supports after-school programs. He and his childhood friend Nicholas Sheinberg met their future Project360 partner, Kimberly Barth, when they were selling bracelets at the annual Women’s Conference to benefit women’s shelters in Long Beach. The success of those bracelet sales and the money they generated for domestic violence shelters led the boys and Kimberly to dream bigger and develop a company that could benefit numerous other worthwhile charities. After many brainstorming sessions, the three of them got together and created Project360. The goal of Project360 is simple: “Buy a great product, help a great cause.” The t-shirts and bracelets benefit causes that all three of the founders have a passion for: from cancer to AIDS, from children in need to the environment, from homelessness to domestic violence. When Patrick is not busy working on his company and its accompanying website, www.teamproject360.com, he is at school where he plays on the basketball and football teams. Patrick grew up in a family that considers public service to be of paramount importance. He credits his grandparents Sargent Shriver and Eunice Kennedy Shriver for showing him the power of an idea and how individual people can change the world. He cites his parents, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, as inspirational role models for the work they do as public servants. Patrick hopes Project360 will be successful and that it will show others, especially young people, how easy it is to help others. Patrick says, “I hope people will see that every little idea can really help. I’m really excited about this company and the change it can help bring about.”
